Introduction and Motivation

Stream discharge plays a significant role in the coastal environment. Stream and lake interactions directly affect the hydrologic cycle as well as coastal erosion and sedimentation flows. Stream discharge measurement is a quantity that is important to understand completely. Created and designed at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the BadgerFish is a unique marine craft that can be used to understand stream discharge with unprecedented precision. This website describes the motivation behind the BadgerFish project and the functionality of the BadgerFish itself.
